THE PROFICIENCY OF SAFE, FUNCTIONAL & ETHICAL ASSISTS

Adjusting really is an art form. It can be quite complex, subtle and multi directional as we are assisting a moving body of energy.

In this training You will learn how to guide a class to suit the needs of the individual within a multi-level group, through guided verbal instructions and hands-on adjustments, including modifications and using props.

COURSE INFORMATION

Syllabus

You will learn:
*Verbal, visual and physical assists
*Assessing postures & developing skills
*Body alignment & energetic lines of poses
* Honour and student’s biomechanical variations
*The power of direct, purposeful and clear instructions
*Transformational & effective hands on assist
*Assisting sun salutations & Vinyasa class
*Hands on assist of over 40 Poses (Standing, Balancing, Twisting, Backbend, Inversions & Savasana)
*Contraindication, modification and use of props

Mythology
*Myths Of The Asana- the myths and tales behind the Sanskrit name of the asanas (Enlightened Animals, Gods & Sages)
*Legends behind the names of poses, Gods and Sages.

Eligibility and Prerequisite

All 50h training modules are counted towards the 50-Hour Teacher Training through the Yoga Alliance.

The training is open to yoga teachers and those who simply desire to deepen their own practice and yoga knowledge.

Example Daily Schedule

• 8:00 - 9:00 Pranayama (1h)

• 9:15 - 11:45 - Asana Masterclass (In 5 different lineages) (2.5h)

• 11:45 - 1:00 - Break

• 1:00 - 5:30 (4.5h) - Breakdown of poses, verbal, visual and physical assists, Mythology

Accreditation

The training is counted towards the 50-Hour Teacher Training through the Yoga Alliance.
